Helpful Hints for SchoolPool Carpooling
To help you increase matches and ridematching flexibility
New Commuters in your Area
When you create your SchoolPool profile you can choose to receive notification of new commuters who join the program. If you don’t wish to receive these updates, select the NO button.
Distance
Distance is part of the matching process and your matches are determined by the distance you have indicated from your starting point. If you have no matches, or a limited number of matches, go to the modify screen and increase the search distance from your starting point. Increasing the number of commuting days will also increase your potential for additional matches.
Time
Time indicates each person’s preference for departure and return times. If you find a day and distance match, you may be able to negotiate the departure and return times with the other person. When you send an email, you can ask about the range of time that the other person might have.
Maps
To view your matches on a map, click the MAP icon associated with each individual match on your list. Your origin and destination is shown and “A” and “B” and your matches origin and destination are shown as “C” and “D”. You can navigate and change the view of the map using the items on the upper right and left of the map.
SchoolPool Carpool Formed
Once you have formed your SchoolPool carpool and you do not wish to get further emails, you can pause your activity by modifying your profile to have no commuting days selected (click to remove the check marks in the “Days required” boxes). This keeps you in the database if you need additional matches in the future. You only need to modify your profile to your new carpool requirements.
